Jacob, Jacob n Sons

I want to tell you about my favorite contact for the week. We realized the bus wasn't coming for 20 minutes, but i thought that we could stay at the stop... and i start talking with an old man. his name is Jacob and he is jewish. He's lived 8 years in Israel and so we became instant friends. I even sang "Hine Matov" with him, and then he translated it for me as we got on the bus together. We talked about the prophet cycle . and He talked about Jesus Christ with me, he only has feelings of love towards him. I told him about latterday prophets and 12 apostles, and he was impressed. He talked about god's promised people and loved the fact that we also believe that we're descendents form Ephraim. He said that he thought that one's heart always needs to be open to learn more about God. It was so wonderful to talk to someone that has a good religious background who isn't catholic or protestant!

I gave him the elder's number and he called them that night (i hadn't yet told them about him, but when he asked to come to church, the elders said, great! we'll see you at the gare!) and i was able to call him the next day.

He said, since I talked to you, I haven't been able to get that encounter out of my mind. I bore witness of the workings of the Holy Ghost and how he puts things on our minds. He said that when he talked to elder Milburn, he got a 'good feeling.' he made sure that i called to wake him up for church and asked what to wear...

He was the best dressed man at church, and loved it. He asked all the right questions and talked a lot. to the question in Gospel Principles class, How does the priesthood get transferred-- from Abraham to Isaac-- he answered, by the laying on of hands!

anyway, i hope that i'm still here when he gets baptized.

oh! and André (that is the rapper that wanted me to teach him voice lessons) is getting baptized this saturday!

anyway, the work goes forth boldly! there are miracles all the time here

i studied the 1st epistle of John this week in Personal Studies and was so touched by John the Beloved's personal witness of the savior. I felt like he was right next to me when he told me that he was a witness of the Word, having handled and worked alongside the savior Jesus Christ. He is a witness. when he asks us to have fellowship with him, as he could with the Christ, I thought of the line from my Pat blessing that I was called to be a co-worker with Christ. He talks about love, we have to love because God Loved us first---He sent His Son. and I have written unto you, young man, because you are strong , and the word of God abideth in you, and ye have overcome the wikedness of the world, therefore you are called sons of God.
LOVE
