Alliances is the french word for covenants. Elder Todd Christofferson said this conference that Covennats help us smile and struggle through hardships. This is because the source of our power comes from God and the conviction that I have made a covenant to serve him and keep his commandments. Elder Bednar in this conference talkd about the committments of the blessings of the teple and what an honor they are. Their protecting power will guard and fortify us. He told us to let the fire of the covennat you made burn within you for strength.
while on a mission where there is not a temple yet, the fire of the covenants I made burn within me daily for strength.
In Moroni 10, we learn that the shedding of the Blood of Christ was a covenant. The Great Covenant between God, the Father of all, and us--ALL of us here on earth. Each covenant that we make is in remembrance of this great covenant. God tells us in Judges 2 that "I will Never break my covenant with you."
This is why having faith, having religion, and the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints helps people's lives. This is why it brings us peace, joy, patience, long-suffering and love. it is because we Know that the Lord will keep his end of the deal. And we have made more and more promises with him that he will keep.
Of course it hurts a little more to fall from a higher mountain, but to feel the air up there and see the beauty up there, and to understand how the town works down below is so worth it.
I'm in my second area, St Ouen right by the great big arch of La Défence in Paris and loving it. It is busy and full of people. and it is a big area, it takes us at least an hour to get anywhere. but we keep at it. we're working with a lot of people, none of whom are really progressing yet, but all of whom I love.
thankyou for your support, love and prayers!
Love, Soeur Wilson
