Miracle of the week
My last day in Nogent should have been packing and going to the new ville, but i don't have that much stuff to pack, and i want to get out anyway. plus, the transfers took longer than usual so they were going to be late. anyway-- we scheduled a last minute rendezvous with the little 10 yr old girl grace. her grandmother is active and her father was once baptized but she has not had the blessing of church most of her life.
We had done one the with her and her cousins on the story of Nephi (i taught them the I will Go and Do song in French) a month or two ago but hadn't been able to see any of the cousins since. but she was at church this Sunday and i sat by her when i was doing the music for primary. For singing time, i finished teaching them the Baptism song and the primary president asked each of the children to draw or write what they had learned from my teaching afterward. It is so rewarding to work with children.
anyway, after sacrament meeting, grace came up to me and told me two things: one, that she wanted me to teach her to play the violin (i had done a musical number-- Nibley's Our Savior's Love) and two that she wanted to get baptized.
well, the grandmother asked permission of both her parents and at our rendezvous we talked of the Joseph Smith story. I also played a little more violin for her, but the best part is that we set a baptismal date for when i can return to Nogent for Grace's baptism. what a gift for my last day in Nogent.
love you all
soeur Wilson
