I had the most wonderful weekend.
I got to witness 9 baptisms on Saturday and I realized that I would be transferred to St.Ouen this week. I have felt like I would be leaving beloved Nogent for a few weeks now, but it did not change the fact that I love Nogent, each member in the ward and each investigator that we’re teaching. And that’s not even counting the fact that I have access to a grand piano here all the time. What blessings I have been given!
Sunday was as sacred as it could be. I taught the little primary children songs and felt of their spirit. One little girl there, Grace, is in a part-member /less practicing family and I have been to her house to work with her family on several occasions. After we sang about Baptism and talked about the beautiful song that we had sung together, she told me she would like to be baptised in the church.
It was the Aaronic Priesthood Sunday for Sacrament meeting, but I was still given the chance to bear testimony to all who were present and give a musical number: Our Savior’s Love arranged for violin/piano by Reid Nibley. After thinking about this great man and the life he lived, I thought about the words of the hymn and each verse having to do with a different member of the Godhead. I thought about the love of God that is manifest in the condescension of His Son and the love for those who were baptised on Saturday. I thought of the many times when I have been able to testify of God’s love to people all around me. An investigator who had come to the baptisms had laughed when the person confirming spoke and professed the love of God for his children. She did not understand then that this whole work is about love. As we explained it to her, it is at the core of every principle. What a wonderful work we are involved in!
